Stroke Care Training

ASA Stroke Care Education & Training

As a global leader in cardiovascular and stroke education, the American Heart Association is proud to offer the Essential Stroke Life Support (ESLS®) and Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS®) courses. These programs are grounded in the most current, evidence-based stroke science and are designed to improve outcomes through early recognition, rapid triage, and effective management of stroke patients across diverse healthcare settings.

Developed in collaboration with the University of Miami Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education and Laerdal Medical, these courses reflect international stroke care standards and are tailored to meet the needs of healthcare professionals worldwide. Whether you’re building foundational knowledge with ESLS® or advancing your clinical skills with ASLS®, these courses provide flexible, high-impact learning to support stroke systems of care and improve patient survival and recovery.

Let's Talk

ESLS®

The ESLS® course combines cognitive curriculum with patient cases using virtual simulation. This allows for an expanded reach to healthcare professionals who do not typically treat stroke patients but need or want to learn how to better care for stroke patients.

ASLS®

The ASLS® Blended Learning Course integrates a dynamic online curriculum with in-person skills testing, offering a flexible and comprehensive training experience. This format allows healthcare professionals—whether in prehospital or in-hospital settings—to build and apply critical stroke management skills through interactive, adaptive learning and hands-on practice. It’s ideal for those who care for stroke patients across the continuum and for providers seeking certification or advanced stroke education.
